1 min read1. Practice empathy for the other person.
Empathy is basically a fancy way of saying “put yourself in someone else’s shoes.”
2.Stay true to who you are.
Remember, there’s a reason they like you in the first place, so don’t lose your own unique qualities.
3. Be open and honest from day one.
One of the worst things you could do to sabotage a new relationship would be to build it on a foundation of dishonesty.
4. Constant communication is key.
Constant communication doesn’t mean that you’re texting or calling each other nonstop. But remaining open to communication when there’s confusion or a misunderstanding is crucial.
5. Be reliable and consistent.
Don’t be that friend who always flakes out — no one likes that!
6. Set boundaries where you need them.

Keep in mind these “boundaries” can be applied to any subject.
7. There has to be fairness and reciprocity.
Just remember that it takes two to tango!
